Gaviscon Advance Liquid is a remedy for indigestion, acid reflux and heartburn, helping to keep excess stomach acid under control and keeping irritation at bay. Gaviscon Advance Liquid is available in a delicious Aniseed flavour and is perfect for those who struggle with indigestion or heartburn after eating spicy or fatty foods, or after drinking coffee or alcohol. It can also help those who are suffering from acid reflux because of a hiatus hernia or an inflamed food pipe.
Gaviscon Advance Liquid contains two active ingredients which work together to ease acid reflux and prevent heartburn. These ingredients are sodium alginate and potassium hydrogen carbonate. This means that they form a thick layer over the contents of your stomach, keeping excess stomach acid from moving up into your food pipe and causing irritation.
primary active ingredients are Sodium Alginate (1000 mg per 10 ml) and Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate (200 mg per 10 ml). Together, they form a protective, floating gel barrier over the stomach contents to block acid.

I needed a real-deal alginate therapy and this is fabulous. Works better for me than anything I've tried from the US. (And yes, the UK formulation of Gaviscon Advance is very different from the USA Gaviscon Advance.) Worth the trouble of importing it, and British Pharmacare made that part easy. Well-packaged for the glass bottles.

Gaviscon Advance itself works very well for reflux, and that’s the most important part. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and for that I remain a customer. That said, I’m disappointed with two aspects of the product and its presentation. First, the bottle size was reduced from 300 mg to 250 mg without a corresponding price adjustment. A size reduction without a price change feels unnecessary and frankly a bit disingenuous. Customers notice these things. Second, while the packaging is functional, it looks unprofessional. The current packaging gives the impression of something assembled in a garage rather than by a pharmaceutical supplier. A molded foam insert or more polished internal packaging would go a long way toward improving confidence and perceived quality. In short: excellent product, but the downsizing and packaging choices detract from what should otherwise be a premium, medically trusted experience. I hope British Pharmacare considers addressing these issues going forward.

For those with GORD or any troublesome acid reflux, this is great for night time or after meals, used alongside daily meds. The market place is full of remedies for heartburn and indigestion but few go on to treat the effects of hiatus hernia, reflux and other digestive issues.

The ordering process is very easy to navigate. The product was shipped to me soon after the order was placed. I can’t find anything negative to say about the packaging. The product (Gaviscon Advance) is great, and customs/shipping to the U.S. is acceptable (3 weeks.) However, the order process is kludgy enough to cost me twice as much with an accidental second order added to my original. I blame the misleading "on sale" web page that concluded my order, so buyer beware.
