Gaviscon Advance Liquid is a remedy for indigestion, acid reflux and heartburn, helping to keep excess stomach acid under control and keeping irritation at bay. Gaviscon Advance Liquid is available in a delicious Aniseed flavour and is perfect for those who struggle with indigestion or heartburn after eating spicy or fatty foods, or after drinking coffee or alcohol. It can also help those who are suffering from acid reflux because of a hiatus hernia or an inflamed food pipe.

Gaviscon Advance Liquid contains two active ingredients which work together to ease acid reflux and prevent heartburn. These ingredients are sodium alginate and potassium hydrogen carbonate. This means that they form a thick layer over the contents of your stomach, keeping excess stomach acid from moving up into your food pipe and causing irritation.

Each 10 ml contains sodium alginate 1000 mg and potassium hydrogen carbonate 200 mg

These bottles come very well wrapped and that is really nice so you don't have to worry about them breaking in the mail. I use this product for LPR and after trying over 100 products to help with the burning throat, this is the only one that calms it enough to try and handle it. The aniseed flavoring (or maybe one of the other ingredients) does have a slight burning effect when you swallow it, but it goes away shortly. After having LPR for 4 years, this is the only thing that helps.

The ordering process was very easy and it came, well-wrapped, in a timely manner. Gaviscon Advance Aniseed is effective, but man, it is so aggressively licorice that I can't deal with it! The pros: the texture is smooth and viscous, and that's head and shoulders above the very upsetting, chalky-weird texture of the US version. It also works, no doubt, making an alginate barrier that helps to keep stomach acid down in the stomach where it belongs. The main con is the taste. I would use the mint version, but I'm taking it for LPR, and mint is one of those no-nos when you're trying to heal your esophagus, so aniseed it is. I wish they had a different flavor, but if you love licorice, you will be thrilled.

I have suffered with silent reflux (LPR) for years. It's gotten worse the past 2 years. I had pretty much given up hope for a fix for the constant throat clearing from hyper active mucus in my larynx and bronchia. Gaviscon Advance is a god send. I've been using it for 2 weeks taking it just before bedtime. I sleep slightly elevated as well. In just two week my throat clearing has diminished significantly. My wife noticed the difference and is delighted. It will likely take a few months for voice horseless to clear as my larynx heals but the improvements are already amazing.
